The Oyo state Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, has in a statement explained that the family of the deceased Ex-Governor, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, knew that he was at the gate and denied entrance to the eight-day fidau prayers held on Sunday.
Olaniyan said this in a remark through his senior media aide, Omolere Omoetan, emphasizing that the State Government led By his Excellency Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, holds high respects for the late Governor but some family of the deceased keeps turning away the friendship.
News4Naija had earlier on Sunday reported that the Oyo State Deputy Governor was denied entrance to the Ajimobi’s resident by security operatives.
The Ajimobi’s on the other, had issued a statement that they were uninformed that the Deputy Governor would be attending the prayer.
Olaniyan who was accompanied by fifteen commissioner delegated by the State Governor to grace the Ex-Governor Ajimobi’s Fidau were denied access and kept waiting at gate for several minutes.
The Deputy Governor in his statement pointed out the Ajimobi family could not deny the fact that they were aware that he was at their gate, as he put a call through to the Chairman of the Oyo State Muslim Council in person of Alhaji Kindle Sanni.
Alhaji Kindle Sanni who was part of the cleric in charge of the prayer responded to the Deputy Governor that he was incapacitated, which according to Engineer Rauf Olaniyan’s statement indicated that everything that happened was pre-planned.
He stated further that the deceased media aide who release the statement through which the Ajimobi’s denied knowing about his presence at their gate was called severally by the security operatives Manning the gate.
Nonetheless, the Deputy Governor in conclusion took time to pray for the late Governor and that he hold no malice against the Ajimobi’s.
