COVID-19: Obasanjo Lock out Associates at in-law’s Funeral in Ogun

The former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Olusegun Obasanjo has on Friday lock out his associates and aides during the funeral of his mother in-law, Mrs Florence Adenekan.
Late Mrs Florence Adenekan was the mother of Mrs Bola Obasanjo one of Obasanjos’ wives, Adenekan who died on April 17, 2020, two days before her her 90th birthday was buried on Friday at Isara in the Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

News4naija gathered that President Obasanjo stood in for Mrs Bola Obasanjo who was away in the United Kingdom and could not make it down to her mother’s burial, however former President aides and friends had joined him at the church for the burial but Obasanjo reportely shut the door.
Obasanjo’s action according to news source was to ensure compliance with the Coronavirus protocols on public gatherings.
The special aide to the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, kehinde Akinyemi confirmed the incident, he said the burial took place at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Diocese of Remo, Isara-Remo, Ogun State, around 10 am in the morning on Friday and the former president personally shut the door.

Akinyemi in his statement reported that the burial service was presided over by the Archbishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos/Bishop of Remo Diocese, Rev Dr Adesina Fape.
The former president after performing the dust to dust rite was reported to pay homage to four traditional rulers at Ode and Isara area of the local government.
The monarchs he visited include the Iraye Remo, Oba Samuel Kalejaiye; Onisara of Isara, Oba Mukaila Olabinjo; the Alaye Ode, Oba Adetunji Osho andthe Eleposo Eposo Ode Remo, Oba Albert Mayungbe.
