FG set to commission Shangai new production line in Imo State

The Federal Government (FG) through the Minister of State,Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, is set to commission the Shangai Engineering Works and Industries production line on Friday, at Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Imo State.

Shangai Engineering Works and Industries, is a conglomerate that specialize in the manufacturi g of Ceiling and PVC pipes, Aluminum corrugated roofing sheets, electrical pipes, security doors, and other building materials.

The company kick-started production in the year 2011.

A news source made it known that the presidency in a bid to show it’s support for the growth of the industrial sector, gave the Minister of State, Mines and Steel the go ahead to commission the factory on behalf of the FG.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Shangai Engineering Works and Industries, Mr. Festus Mbisiogu, had earlier sent a letter to officially invite the Federal Government to the factory commission, the chairman in the letter explained that the factory was birth in response to the Clarion call for diaspora investments by the Imo State Government.

He further appreciate the conducive investment and business Environment made available by the Federal Government, pointing out that it has helped the company grow in leaps and bounds and had empowered the company’s output to compete excellently in the market.

In the letter the Shanghai Engineering Works and Industries Chief Executive Officer disclosed that the company is focused on a broad objective of becoming a prominent construction company and a one-stop-shop for building materials in Nigeria.

Misiogu emphasized that the Shanghai Engineering Works and Industries in a bid to complement the job creation effort of the Imo State Government, will create about 300 jobs per year.

He concluded that the expansion of the company’s manufacturing axis is to include the production of PVC pipes, PVC pipes, PVC ceiling, borehole pipes electrical pipes, and window profiles, he declared that the project was invested into with about $1.5 million aside cost of land.
