News4Naija had earlier reported the abduction of the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) Chairman, Com.Goodluck Ofobruku, by unidentified gunmen, who apprehended him while he was driving out of his house on Saturday evening.
The Labor leader as related by Com. Innocent Ofoyade, the states NLC secretary, regained freedom from his kidnappers on Monday night.
Ofoyade, however express gratitude to God, well wishers, men of the vigilante group and the Nigeria Police Force for their support when the Chairman was missing.
According to Ofoyade the kidnappers had collected ransom before setting Ofobruku free. But the secretary refused to reveal the ransom price.
Confirming the release, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP. Hafiz Inuwa, gave adorations to God and reiterated that he was not in the know of any paid ransom to the perpetrators before the NLC chair man was released.
He however explained that the police had been reinforcing to get the Labor leader out of the kidnappers den.
Ofobruku is however reported to have been injured in the process of his release and have been taken to an hospital for medical attention.
COVID-19: Kwara stat Government losses Chief of Staff
In other news, the Kwara state Chief of Staff, Aminu Adisa Logun is dead, he was reported to have died of Coronavirus complications.
Logun before his death was the Chief of Staff to the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, from June 7, 2019.
The Kwara state Government confirmed Logun’s death in a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, pointing out that the deceased Chief of Staff had served the state with all his strength.
Nevertheless, Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, in honor of his late Chief of Staff declared a seven-days mourning in the State.
