The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has on Friday signed the revised N10.8 trillion 2020 budget into law.
President Buhari did the signing at the Council Chambers of the presidential Villa in Abuja around 11:00 am on Friday morning.
The president in his address during the signing explained that the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nigeria economy makes necessary to revise the budget.
Buhari further elucidate that departments, agencies, and ministries will be given fifteen percent of their capital allocation at the end of the month.
The signing which took place took place inside the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja was witnessed by Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari , Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
Principal Officers from the National assembly that witnessed the event include the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila among others.
