Oyo approve Reopening of Schools, cancels 2019/2020 third term

The Oyo state Government on Tuesday he approved the protocols that would guide the reopening of Schools and other educational activities in the State.

This was revealed after a meeting of the State Executives Council meeting in Ibadan the Oyo State capital on Tuesday.

The new timetable indicates that the third term has been crossed out for the 2019/202 academic session, and promotion to the next class for all affected students would be done using results from their first and second term continuous assessment.

It was stated that students in the Senior Secondary School 3, Junior Secondary School 3, and Primary 6 who have been asked to resume earlier, would as from July 30th proceed on Holiday and would resume back for their exams in later dates.

However, According to the timetable the Junior Secondary School 3 Basic Certificate Examination is proposed to hold between August 10 and 18, and entrance examination into the Oyo state School of science is Scheduled to hold on the 19th of August.

It was further stated in the timetable that the Senior Secondary School 3 Students would resume immediately after the West African Examination Council release a date for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

While the Placement and Screening test for prospective Junior Secondary School would be conducted on the 20th of August, and on August 28 is scheduled for placement test into the Oyo state technical colleges.

In conclusion, the next academic session which is the 2020/2021 academic session is set to begin by September 21 2020, while the first term of the session will run from September 21 through December 18, 2020.
