Foreign countries which include the United States of America, Ghana and India according to a report have written respectively to the Nigeria Government to request the extradition of a total of thirteen Nigerians over alleged fraud, drug dealing and acquisition of properties under false identity.
This was revealed through a report prepared and presented to the Federal Executive Council by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and tittles “Ministerial Performance Report May 2019 – May 2020”.
In the report it was stated that the Department of International Cooperation, over the last one year, recieved a total of thirteen extradiction request from foreign countries, eight of which was from the US, three from Ghana and one was from India.
According to the Ministry of Justice the extraction request from India was rejected because it seem to be political motivated, while the Ministry in it’s capacity had approved that the US Interpol locate individuals that was been seeked.
It was pointed out by the report that Nigeria over the last one year had vetted forty-two memorandum of understanding and agreement with other countries and that a total of one thousand one hundred and twenty terrorism related cases were recorded by the public procecusion department of the ministry.
Over three thousand and ninety-two cases relating to general and financial matters were said to have been recieved by the police and is being prosecuted in the magistrate courts in accordance with the Nigeria Criminal Justice Act of 2015.

However, the ministry reported that over one thousand cases have been completed in court and perpetrator apportioned their rightful punishments.
The Ministry revealed through the report that more reports are been filed on daily basis and projected that it would complete about Two thousand five hundred cases by the end of the year 2020.
On issues relating to kidnaping and abduction the company said it has a total of ten cases at hand, while about one thousand three hundred and fifty-nine cases relating to armed robbery and conspiracy are undergoing trials
